HONOR SONG LYRICS

Good Morning, My Little Friends

Honoring Joannie Hackbarth

Good Morning, My Little Friends

CHORUS:
Good morning my little friends, good morning
Good morning my little friends, I’ll tell you where I been
Good morning my little friends, good morning

I’m a farm girl. At two years old.
We moved here on a farm called home.
With a black pony, a funny little guy
With four white feet to school would ride
Tie him up - to a wooden shed
He’d break loose. Back home would head
After that – I rode my bike
Living on a farm it’s a real good life
Chorus

The only girl in my class
Played pickup sticks, balls and jacks
My father had a Model T
Made a cart – Sparky pulled me
Then with my Dad plowed all day
Fifty cents I got paid
In those times and not more
A nickel for pop at the store
Chorus

With my friends we would play
In a barn filled with hay
Made of wooden pegs, timber’s square
With a rope, we climbed up there
Where the birds and pigeons flew
From those beams, I’m telling you
We would jump into the hay
There’s no place like Ridgeway
Chorus

Fell in love. Got married.
Ten days before I turned 19
Bought a feed mill, here in town
Then lightning struck, it to the ground
From Ridgeway community
Organized an old time bee
Neighbors came to rebuild
In one weekend – a new feed mill
Chorus
